Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.25 60 time. Feet are active and aggressive in coming to get, playing through the baseball. He shows a low to high approach with hands and feet working well together in getting rid of the baseball quickly. Glove action is solid displaying soft, clean, and sure hands. Throws show life, carry, and accuracy across the diamond. Offensively, DeFrank shows as a switch hitter that projects best from the right side. From the left side, he shows some rhythm through a solid setup through a level swing path. He cuts his swing off as he needs to work on keeping hands through the baseball. From the right side, set up is solid, flashing bat speed as he maintains bat speed through the point of contact. He shows a solid feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off his bat when centered. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 81-84 mph with some arm side run. Changeup is best off speed pitch, showing a solid feel for with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with tight spin and gradual break. With 2 years to further develop, Nick has a lot of potential as he will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.
