05/09/2010 - College PREP - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Nick is a two-way player as a catcher and 2B. Currently, he projects best as a catcher for the next level. Hands and feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Receiving and blocking skills flash potential of being quality tools at the next level. At 2B, his feet are active in coming to get the baseball, but Nick needs to be more aggressive in playing through the baseball. Offensively, Fischer sits in well, showing a balanced approach that allows his hands to work quickly to the baseball, flashing bat speed. He has a choked grip that causes the barrel at times to work in and out at the point of contact. He needs to work on keeping the barrel through the baseball. When centered, the ball jumps off his bat, flashing gap to gap power. Nick has a lot of potential behind and at the plate, and he will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.
