08/19/2017 - College PREP - West Harrison (NYC), NY Nick is a young, 2-way player who plays 2nd base and RHP. Defensively, Nick has fluid hands, makes plays on balls hit his way, and his exchange is clean. He keeps the ball in front of his body, and throws with carry and accuracy to his target. If Nick can improve pre-pitch actions, quicken his footwork, and avoid stabbing at the ball, abilities in the INF will get better. On the mound, Nick works in good rhythm, he stands over the rubber well, and his arm is loose. He separates on-time, lands in a square position, and rotates through to his target. More extension and work on his lower 1/2 through his delivery can help pitches improve. Offensively, Nick has a tall set-up, short stride, and good balance. He has an aggressive swing, quick hands, and hits line drives. More lower 1/2, better separation, and more extension through the ball will help hitting spike.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
