06/19/2023 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 Nick is a 2026 RHP/2B out of Kodak, TN who attended the Omaha National World Series this past June. At 2B, he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works ell through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball showed a range 74-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Mental makeup exceptional as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

06/09/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory All-State Tournament Nick continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and did so at the All-State Tournament. At 2B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry (82 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, hitting/power potential have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 76 mph. Fastball showed a range of 72-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Nick as he enters his sophomore year.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Nick is a 2026 2B/RHP out of Kodak, TN who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. At 2B, he works to center the ball and make routine plays. Does a good job of working from right to left as he keeps balls in front of him. He made accurate throws to first base from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 73mph. On the mound, glove is centered, with shoulders in-line, and works down the mound. He shows good composure and has a controlled landing. Attacks hitters with a FB topping out at 70mph with some tailing action, and an 11/5 shaped breaking ball that flashes good depth. At the plate, he sets up in an athletic and relaxed stance. He gets knob to C, with a short/small glide step, and showed good bat to ball skills. Showed ability to get on-plane early as he hit balls to all fields. Overall, Nick is a good player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

08/21/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Nick continues show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.35 runner. At 2B, he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is firm and presents out front. He moves well laterally and covers ground in the MIF. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 66-68 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

08/04/2022 - Baseball Factory Summer World Series at the NY Mets Spring Training Complex Nick is a class of 2026 2B/RHP out of Kodak, TN. He showed good foot speed in the 60-yard dash. At the plate, he started in a tall stance and had a short stride towards the baseball. He did a good job using his lower ½ and was short to the hitting zone. He made consistent contact and showed the ability to keep his hands inside the baseball. In the field, he worked downhill and created angles to the baseball. He showed soft hands and fielded the ball well out front. He fielded from a low position and had clean transfers. On the mound, he showed confidence and comfort. He worked down in the zone with his fastball and mixed in his breaking ball to help keep hitters guessing. Nick is a good young player with another 4 years of development before college.

07/12/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Knoxville, TN Nick is a RHP/2B prospect who will graduate in 2026. On the mound, Nick gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works inline toward the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. Nick operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 67mph. Breaking ball sits from 58-59mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 61-63mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Loosening his arm action can help Nick improve his pitch command. In the field, Nick shows active footwork and covers ground well. He makes the routine plays and has a clean exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly and makes accurate throws to his target. Nick can field ground balls more efficiently by getting into a more athletic fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He works to barrel up the baseball and produces solid line drives. Developing a smoother load can help Nick create more consistent contact. Overall, Nick is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
