05/18/2008 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD Nick is a solid two way prospect. On the mound, Nick has balance with good deception and separation. He has a feel for his CB and he is consistent with every pitch. He needs to work on using his lower half more in order to increase velocity potential. At SS, Nick has soft hands and proper arm action. He needs to play through the ball, but he looks everything in and made some good plays. At the plate, Nick has bat speed but dives at the ball. Waiting for the ball to travel more will help increase barrel accuracy. With continued hard work Nick is one to watch.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
