10/09/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Nick is an outstanding SS in the 2024 class. His measurable jump off the page (87 velo, 6.68 runner, and 92 exit speed). His six ft / 160 frame is athletic and will only continue to become more explosive. In the field, he impressed scouts with his smooth actions. His feet are active and his pre-pitch movements all him to attack the baseball with controlled movements. He squares himself in his fielding position and has excellent pocket feel. Can use multiple arm slots based upon his fielding zone and his release is quick. His feeds are accurate across the diamond and on his spins. At the plate, he makes hard line drive contact. He has fast twitch movements and generates explosive hip turn through the swing. His swing path is short which allows him to see the baseball long and hit it where it is pitched. Working to stay sideways longer will stabilize his front shoulder and produce even more explosion in his output. Overall, there is a lot to like about Nick’s game and scouts can’t wait to see where ability takes him at the next level.

12/28/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Russellton, PA Nick continues to shine in his baseball abilities on the diamond. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he works around but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range and utilizes his foot quickness in covering ground in the MIF. Throws are accurate with carry (83 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

09/16/2021 - Pathway AZ Upperclass - 18U Nick is 2024 SS prospect who showcased his skills at the Pathway Tournament. Ran a 6.87 60-yard dash. In the infield, has a good prep step, with active/efficient footwork, and he shows good lateral range. He works to center the baseball, with ability to pick out hops, and has a clean transfer. He made accurate throws from multiple arm slots, with good carry, and an arm velocity up to 83mph across diamond. Showed good touch on his DP flip and follows. A right-handed hitter, he hits from an upright and even stance with a high hand set. Takes an aggressive swing, with quick hands, and ability to deliver the barrel. Ability to get on-plane early and showed a fast bat through the hitting zone. He hit balls consistently into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 89mph. During the games, he reached base 5 times with a double, 2 singles, a base on balls, and a hit by pitch. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Nick having opportunities to play at the next level.

07/26/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Greensburg (Pittsburgh), PA Nick continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.07 runner. At the plate, hitting abilities are now well above average with outstanding power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground in the MIF. Throws are accurate with carry (83 mph velocity) across the diamond.

03/28/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Nick is a 2024 SS. Medium frame athletic build who should add strength as he matures. Primary SS, he has efficient feet and good timing as he moves into fielding position. He keeps his momentum during his DP flips. Accurate and online throws from a 3/4 arm slot that will continue to develop. Recorded an arm velocity of 77mph. A right-handed hitter, starts with an upright and open stance. There is some quickness to the wrists with solid bat to ball skills. Has a good gap to gap approach and swings with intent. Bat exit velocity of 81mph. As he continues to develop and mature, we see him having the opportunity to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
