06/17/2017 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Nickolas is a hardworking 1B prospect who plays the game the right way and graduates in 2018. As a right-handed hitter, Nickolas has a square setup with his weight in the front of his stance. He maintains direction with his stride and partially uses his lower half throughout his swing. He is developing bat speed which will produce stronger contact. Nickolas is a contact type hitter who has the ability to use the whole field. In the field, Nickolas is a hustler who makes all the routine plays. He is developing foot speed and the correct angles to field the ball squarely. Nickolas has a clean exchange leading into a restricted arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. His throws are accurate across the diamond. Overall, Nickolas has a good approach on both sides of the ball and upside to get even better with development.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
