08/10/2024 - Baseball Factory Prospect Combine Nikolas is a 2027 right-handed pitcher from East Elmhurst, NY who showcased his talents at the BF prospects camp. At the plate he starts with a high handset and activated hands. Shows fluid timing with intent in the swing. Tends to get long and uphill which affects his barrel accuracy. During the event he made consistent contact and reached base on a single. On the mound he works from the stretch exclusively. Has a clean arm stroke in the back and gets full extension out front. Lanes in a good fielding position. He throws four pitches and he works off of his fastball that topped at 65 mph. Mixes in a curveball and a slider that both have good depth and plus command. Needs to improve his fastball command and holding runners. He worked hard during his time at this event and asked all the right questions. We look forward to seeing him at another event soon.

01/12/2024 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Sarasota Nikolas is a 2027 1B/RHP who showcased his skills at the BF Spring Training in Sarasota. At 1B he was coachable with a willingness to learn a new position. He worked to keep the ball in front of him. Shows a loose arm stroke in back and throws from a 3/4 arm slot forward. This right-handed pitcher has a good frontside and picks up his target early. He has a controlled landing and finishes in an athletic position. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 62mph with plus command, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball, and a developing changeup. In 2 innings of work, Nikolas gave up 2 soft singles and struck out 1 batter. At the plate he hits from a tall and closed stance. Shows middle of the field approach and is centered at contact. In live game action he reached base 2 times on 2 walks. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
