06/11/2017 - College PREP - Bakersfield, CA Nikolas is a lean, athletic built right-handed pitching prospect who has a well-rounded skill set and graduates in 2018. On the mound, Nikolas has an on-time delivery throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He does a nice job extending through his release and stays square to home plate. Nikolas finishes effectively with his chest over his front knee in an athletic position ready to field. His fastball is 78-81 MPH and his curveball has good depth at 66-68 MPH. Offensively, Nikolas has a square setup and his weight in the back of his stance. He is developing bat speed and can benefit from a shorter swing path. He is a contact type hitter who has the ability to spray the ball to all fields. Overall, Nikolas has a good approach and projectable skill set giving him a bright future on the diamond.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
