08/16/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory All-America Game powered by Under Armour Nolan is a talented and hard working prospect - the best prospect we've seen from the state of Hawaii in recent history. He has a chiseled 6'2" frame that leads to present power in his left-handed stroke (106 mph exit velocity). He has an active lower half in his swing and is most comfortable with balls on the inner half that he can turn on. He showed in the workout at the Baseball Factory All-America Game that the ball comes off his barrel extremely hard. As a defender Nolan moves well laterally and has a strong, accurate arm to finish plays. Overall, Nolan has huge upside and will garner a lot of attention this spring.

10/16/2019 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Nolan is a coachable SS prospect who showed well during the Arizona Fall Classic. In the field, Nolan takes a good first step and shows active footwork. He fields the ball out in front with soft, sure hands and makes a clean exchange. He gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a controlled stride. He is on time getting into a simple load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a smooth swing with fast bat speed, leading to great gap to gap pop. Overall, Nolan is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his freshman season.

08/11/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Waipahu (Honolulu), HI Nolan is a tall and athletic SS/2B that graduates in 2023. At SS Nolan shows fluid footwork with agile range to the hole and up the middle. He fields the ball athletically with soft hands and makes clean exchanges out in front of him him getting rid of the ball with a loose arm action. He creates momentum towards his target getting rid on the ball with strength (86mph raw velo) and delivers the ball on line. At 2B Nolan shows similar actions in all aspects but his athleticism plays a little better at SS. At the plate, Nolan sets up in an athletic stance getting a square stride and gets his foot down on time. He shows smooth rhythm through his swing with a good lower half and gets the barrel to and through the baseball with good extension. He shows a line drive and gap to gap approach at the plate. Overall, Nolan has a very projectable upside that should be a follow over the next few years as he develops.

12/27/2018 - 2018 Inaugural West Coast Winter Classic - La Verne, CA Nolan is an athletic and talented 2023 SS prospect with a good feel for the game. At SS, Nolan is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and has a good first step to the ball. He has great hands, turns double plays well, and throws from multiple arm angles. He needs to continue play through his backhand and build arm strength. At the plate, Nolan starts in an open stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and attacks the inside part of the ball. He creates backside drive with his lower half and has a gap to gap approach. He's a patient hitter and shows pull side power. After being named MVP of the West Coast Winter Classic, Nolan will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

08/19/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Nolan is a lean, athletic, SS with good skills. Defensively, Nolan has active feet, agile movements, and he fields in an athletic position. He has a soft glove, works around the ball properly, and throws with accuracy from a short arm action to his target. At the plate, Nolan has a square set-up, he loads well, and stands in well balanced. He has a short/direct barrel to the ball, good bat speed, and he uses his lower body. Overall skills can further improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Attack aggressively
2. Play lower
Offense
1. Widen base
2. Bat speed

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
