06/23/2018 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Orion is a coachable and hardworking 2019 south paw prospect. In the OF, Orion is on time with his pre-pitch movement and has a quick first step to the ball. He Fields the ball in an athletic position, he has a clean exchange, and creates momentum in his lower half when throwing to the bases. At the plate, Orion starts in an open stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He keeps a quiet head, gets his lower half through the ball, and stays balanced through contact. Continuing to keep his head down at contact will prevent him from his front shoulder flying open. On the bump, Orion gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and keeps his eyes on his target. He has good tempo in his delivery and works north to south. Orion will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
