12/01/2023 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Owen is a high energy catcher in the 2026 class. Behind the plate, he stays square to the mound and shows flexibility by sitting low. His weight stays inside his feet and he has a relaxed feel. Ball sticks to the pocket and by working to receive more out in front, he can maintain the strike zone. Gains a high 3 qtr. slot and feeds hover around the 2.5 pop. When Owen learns to replace his feet and gain ground, he will certainly decrease his times. At the plate, he begins in a tall and squared stance. His hands are high and he uses a small and simple load. Body stays under control and he hits off a firm front side. Swing plane is smooth and he controls the barrel well at 80 exit velo. Overall, Owen is a young and upcoming player with a bright future ahead of him.

03/05/2023 - National Showcase - Windsor (Madison), WI Owen continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.28 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent hard contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

11/03/2022 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at the Jackie Robinson Sports Complex Owen continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process but needs to get body down sooner. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.45 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

08/14/2022 - All-In Membership - Oak Creek (Milwaukee), WI Owen is a C prospect who will graduate in 2026. Medium frame lean build with some strength present. Behind the dish, he works to center the baseball and presents a low target with some pocket awareness. Tries to work around the baseball as he gains ground towards second base. Throws from a low 3/4 release point, with a short arm stroke in back, and has an arm velocity up to 71mph and a best pop time of 2.5 seconds. At the plate, he hits from a crouched and square stance. A quiet head and level eyes enable him to track pitches well. Keeps his weight between his knees and is balanced at contact. He sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 76mph. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Owen having a bright future on the baseball field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
