05/07/2017 - College PREP - Bowie, MD Paolo is a lean, athletic 3B who will graduate in 2019. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.22. At 3B, he displays clean actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper angles but needs to attack ball more and play through with his body. Glove action is soft but will benefit by presenting more out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Paolo has abilities with a lot of room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
