04/05/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Myrtle Beach, SC Parker primarily played SS and pitched for the Victory team at the PreSeason All-Ripken Games in Myrtle Beach. His performance was highlighted by a triple in the gap, and his stroke is geared to hard line drives and we like the way he uses the whole field. He demonstrated good strike-zone judgement as well, drawing 4 walks in his 12 plate appearances. His RH stroke is simple and his barrel accuracy will continue to improve with consistent pitch timing and a square stride. Defensively Parker moves well laterally with good reads off the bat and natural, athletic actions in the infield. His hands are sure and he finishes plays with an accurate arm. On the mound, Parker appeared a bit nervous and struggled to throw strikes, but his athletic delivery and clean arm stroke were still on display. His body gets ahead of his arm at times making consistent strikes more challenging. His fastball/curveball mix features two effective pitches, and we look forward to seeing him again when he is more comfortable on the mound. Overall, Parker has a quality foundation - we look forward to seeing him again at his best, and watching him further develop.
