08/06/2023 - National Showcase - Seattle, WA Parker is a solid, strong catcher who is a prospect on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off a soft chest. Pop times showed in the 2.28 range with accuracy / carry (83 mph velocity) to his target. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Offensively, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding power potential through a tall, open setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation through a balanced approach. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Parker has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
