06/22/2013 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 Wright showed on the mound and for the first time at 2B at the event. He has improved his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an above average runner at 7.12. Feet are active as he works to square balls up, displaying clean hands. He moves well laterally, flashing range in the MIF. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to player through balls and present hands more out front. Throws are accurate, flashing carry as he will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an aggressive approach with balance. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball utilizing all fields. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 75-77 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with fading action. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude and plays hard.

04/21/2013 - College PREP - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Parker is a RHP with an athletic frame and will graduate in 2014. On the mound his fastball ranges from 73-78 MPH with late action. His arm action is free and loose with a controlled balance point, smooth separation and he reaches a complete finish. Parker has a smooth delivery with good rhythm and temp. His curveball is his best off speed pitch, with a 10/4 shape, sharp early break, and the ability to throw it for strikes. Parker can work on making sure he keeps the same arm speed on all pitches and works in line with his target landing on the ball of his foot. Overall, Parker shows the ability to compete at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
