Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

08/29/2010 - College PREP - Hampton, VA Patrick showed some improvements in his game during his last workout in Hampton, VA. He still projects better in the INF than on the mound, as he enters his Senior year. Defensively, Patrick presents his glove well, has soft hands, and he makes plays on balls hit his way. He has good footwork around the bag, he uses his lower 1/2 well, and he throws with good accuracy to his target. Patrick will need to quicken his feet, field the ball further out in front of his body, and add arm strength in order to further improve. On the mound, Patrick improved his radar velocity from 72 to 74 MPH. He has good direction toward the plate, he repeats his delivery well, and he works in good tempo. He is in the zone with all of his pitches and his off-speed showed nice improvement. Patrick needs to finish off his pitches and continue to add arm strength in order for his stock to continue to rise. Offensively, Patrick has good balance, bat speed, and average barrel accuracy. He has good strength, he takes aggressive swings, and he has pop in his bat. If he can simplify his swing, and tap into more lower 1/2, offensive numbers can further improve.

08/05/2010 - Vero Beach Pro Select Training and Competition - 2010 Hitting grades and power numbers have really improved through an athletic setup and stroke. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed as he shows strength in his swing. He shows a feel for the barrel, displaying power potential with baseball jumping off his bat when centered as he has raw pop. At 1B, defensive grades have improved as he displays proper footwork around the bag and makes the routine plays. Currently, he projects only at 1B for the next level. He has good leadership abilities and sound instincts as he stole 3B standing up.

07/15/2010 - Cape Cod Training 2010 - Session 2 Reamy continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 8.12 runner. Arm strength has improved as he topped out at 72 mph as he will benefit by staying on a long toss program. Offensively, he shows a level swing path with as hands work short to long through the baseball as he shows a feel for the barrel, flashing gap power.

05/09/2010 - College PREP - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Patrick is a two-way player on the mound plus at 1B with a solid frame that shows projection as he continues to polish, firming up. Currently, he projects best at 1B for the next level. Feet are active but needs to be more aggressive in coming to get, playing through the baseball with hands / feet. Glove action is clean and will be playable as his plays more aggressive through the ball. Footwork around the bag is a plus and he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Throws flash carry as he will benefit from a long toss program. Offensively, Reamy works to keep hands inside the ball and makes consistent contact but has some mechanical flaws that are hindering him from reaching full potential. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 69-71 mph with average off speed pitches that need further development to be quality pitches at the college level. Patrick has abilities with a lot of room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
