12/19/2012 - Pirate City Christmas Camp and Tournament Patrick is a quiet, hard-working two-position guy. At Pirate City, he displayed an accurate are and solid footwork in the infield. He makes the routine play consistently. His foot speed showed improvement with a drop of nearly three tenths of a second off of his 60 yd time. But he needs to continue to improve this tool to increase his range. Would like to see him be a bit more aggressive defensively and continue to work on arm strength. He is a contact-type hitter with quiet hands and pretty good plate discipline. He works from an open stance and doesn't get back square. Missing some lower half rotation causes him to have to work too hard with the top half. He has some wrap and dip to his hands that affect his contact. On the mound, Patrick repeated his delivery and was around the plate with three pitches. Over the top arm slot, and his arm is fairly quick. He works downhill fairly well, though he is forced to work across his body because he works from the extreme side of the rubber. This causes him to get on the side of his pitches at times. Long and tall with room to fill out. His work ethic is strong and he showed himself teachable as well.
