08/01/2010 - College Prep Super Regional - Blue Springs, MO - PM Patrick is a two-way player in the OF plus at 1B with a tall, thin, and athletic looking body that shows projection as he continues to physically mature, filling out. Currently, he projects best in the OF for the next level. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 7.06 60 time. Feet are active and aggressive as e takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls in the OF as e works to get behind, playing through with momentum target. Throws flash carry from a high ' arm slot as he will benefit by getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength. At 1B, he shows proper footwork around the bag with a deep glove action. Offensively, Winston shows a balanced approach with hands working quickly through the zone, flashing bat speed. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off his bat when centered. Power numbers will continue to increase as he learns to utilize his lower half more efficiently through the swing. Patrick has abilities with a lot of room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
