02/21/2011 - College PREP - Trumbull, CT Paul is a tall, athletic, projectable, RHP who will graduate in 2012. On the mound, Paul has good size, a long / free arm action, and solid mechanics. He works to a tall balance point, he has on-time separation, and he gets good extension on his pitches. Paul works in good rhythm, he keeps his shoulders level, and he lands in an athletic / square position. More lower 1/2, added arm strength, and sharper off-speed will help take his game to the next level. Offensively, Paul has a square / athletic set-up, proper load, and he tracks the ball well. He shows good balance, fast bat speed, and he makes square contact to all fields. Paul swings in good rhythm and can get better with more lower 1/2. A player to watch over the next 2 seasons.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
