11/17/2024 - National Showcase - Tampa, FL Paxtyn, a young and developing 6th grader, shows great promise as both a right-handed pitcher and catcher. Behind the plate, he has a relaxed setup, working efficiently to track the ball into the mitt and delivering throws from a sidearm release point. As a hitter, Paxtyn starts from an upright and even stance, maintaining a quiet head and tracking pitches well, which allows him to make consistent contact. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch, gathering himself over the rubber, landing square to his target, and demonstrating good rotational mechanics. Paxtyn throws a fastball, curveball, and change-up, showcasing his ability to mix pitches and keep hitters off balance. With plenty of time ahead in his development, Paxtyn has a bright future and is well on his way to continuing to refine his skills as both a pitcher and a catcher.
