07/15/2011 - Team One South 2011 Peter improved foot speed as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a slightly above average runner at 7.44. Offensive grades and power numbers have really improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating outstanding bat speed to and through the ball at contact. He works to keep hands inside the ball and shows plus power to all fields with baseball exploding off his bat when centered. At the event, he was 2 for 3 with a BB.

10/27/2010 - Arizona Fr/So Fall Classic - 2010 Alonso continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Arm strength has improved as he displays a hose for an arm across the diamond with throws showing life, carry, and accuracy. Offensively, hitting grades and power grades have improved through an aggressive approach. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed to and through the baseball at contact. Power is to all fields with the baseball exploding off his bat. He was 4 for 8 with a 2B at the event. His best tool may be his mental makeup as he has a tremendous attitude and displays solid leadership traits on the field.

05/23/2010 - College PREP - Tampa, FL Peter is a young, strong, athletic INF with a good set of baseball skills. At 3B, Peter has a good idea, good preparation, and makes plays on balls hit his way. He fields smoothly, and throws accurately with life across the diamond. He has good feel around the bag at 1st, and shows soft hands. Fielding can improve with lighter feet and by fielding the ball out in front of his body a bit more. Offensively, Peter has a balance approach and good bat speed. He has life in his bat, has a middle approach, and pop in his barrel. More direct hands to the ball and a shorter stroke can help Peter improve offensively. Overall Peter is a young, solid INF with a bright future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
