07/16/2017 - College PREP - Washington, DC Peter is a tall, solid OF/RHP who has a tremendous future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential an athletic setup with rhythm. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Lower half works well through the swing and he has strength / leverage in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. He works to get behind balls and plays through well. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 72-75 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action but throws too hard with speed variations being too close to fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Peter has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
