04/10/2022 - All-In Membership - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Pierson is a C/OF in the class of 2023 out of Bethesda, MD. Behind the dish, he showed great actions by having good fluid footwork while staying low on his throw downs with small steps and moving laterally well laterally when blocking. He stays low and athletic when receiving and tracks the ball to his mitt with soft hands. His exchanges were clean and short while his throws held carry to the bag. In the outfield, he did a good job of working behind the fly ball to set up his arm to make strong accurate throws. On the ground ball, he works around it to attack it towards the infield and cut off angles to the gaps. He fields the ball cleanly with solid momentum working through the baseball. At the plate, he uses a tall stance with a square stride and smooth timing to deliver the barrel with explosive bat speed. His path is on plane with a strong lower half which allows him to make hard consistent contact to all fields with power. Pierson is a good player we believe carries the skills to advance to the next level with success.

09/22/2021 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Pierson continues to show as a top prospect at the Arizona Junior Fall Classic. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt, tracks ball well and sticks pitches in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Runners will not want impressive pop times of 2.07. Offensively, he continues to shine with power potential through an athletic setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion (90 mph exit velocity) with the ball screaming off his barrel. At the event, he was 3 for 8 with a 3B and 3 RBI. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

07/28/2021 - Baseball Factory Southwest Championships 17U Pierson is a C who will graduate in 2023. Good frame athletic build with strength present and room to add more strength. At C, active/efficient feet and presents a low target. Works around ball with good direction towards second base. Showed a quick arm with accurate/online throws from a 3/4 arm slot and an arm velocity of 83mph and a best pop time of 2.33 seconds. A right-handed hitter, hits from a open and athletic stance. Simple load, with good rhythm, and a good bat angle at contact. Good contact hitter who recorded a bat exit velocity of 84mph during his live game action. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball field.

07/04/2021 - Baseball Factory Firecracker Classic 18U Cooper continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allowing him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his for an arm with pop times of 2.15. In the OF, he utilizes his quick feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. Offensively, he continues to shine with outstanding hitting / power potential. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion (84 mph exit velocity) with the ball screaming off of his barrel. At the event, he was 4 for 8.

06/21/2021 - USA Baseball 17U Championships Pierson is a C/OF prospect who will graduate in 2023. Tall frame, well-proportioned, athletic build with strength present and plenty of room to add more strength. Ran a 7.0 60-yard dash. Behind the dish, active/efficient feet who showed good athleticism and agility. 1 knee primary stance who presents a good target. Gains ground towards second base and creates good blocking angles. Throws from a high 3/4 release point, with accurate throws, and had good carry on ball and a best pop time of 2.15 seconds. In the OF, his quick feet and athletic actions were on display. Takes good routes to balls while creating good fielding angles. Pierson showed better in the OF during workout and games. A right-handed hitter, starts with an athletic and even stance. Relaxed stance, with a high hand set, who gets good extension out front. Flat bat path with ability to hit hard line drives to all fields. In live game action, Pierson had 6 knocks, including 2 doubles, and made loud outs all week. Recorded a wood bat exit velocity of 87mph and was voted best hitter on team by coaches. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball field.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Pierson continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his cannon of arm (90 mph velocity) with impressive pop times of 2.15. Offensively, he continues to shine through an open setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel accuracy (86 mph exit velocity) through a line drive approach with gap to gap pop.

12/11/2020 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Pierson continues to show why he is a top prospect at the C/OF positions. Behind the plate, he presents a low/soft mitt and tracks pitches well. With a clean exchange, he does well replacing his feet and throwing the ball down quickly with carry (88 mph arm velo). Pop times remaining in the low 2's. He has + blocking ability by centering his body and keeping the ball in front using efficient footwork which will play at the next level. At the plate, he shows an athletic stance with loose/comfortable hands. He has a controlled/on-time rhythm allowing him to track the ball well. An explosive lower half and smooth/on-plane bat path allows the ball to explode off his bat, with gap-to-gap power. Pierson is a talented prospect who is fun to watch. This 2023 grad is surely one to keep an eye on.

09/23/2020 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Pierson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 6.95 runner. Behind the plate, feet are aggressive and active as he works in line to his target, through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.06 with accuracy and on line zip (88 mph velocity) on his throws. Receiving / blocking tools show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He has strength (87 mph exit velocity) in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered as he works to stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and a leader behind the dish.

07/26/2020 - All-In Membership - Bowie, MD Cooper continues to shine on the diamond. With the bat, this righty will drive in runs. Quick hands whip the barrel with + bat speed as he connects and drives the ball on a line from gap to gap. Behind the dish, he has athletic actions with flexion and good sway. Throws to 2B are on the bag - pop times now at 2.09. Pierson is a very talented catching prospect to keep an eye on.

02/22/2020 - Baseball Factory Mid-Atlantic Combined Skills Training - Columbia, MD (Ages 14-18) Pierson continues to improve. He is solid both behind and at the plate. As a hitter, he has good bat speed in a balanced approach while showing the ability to use the whole field. He has a quiet, rhythmic approach. Behind the plate, he works with a low set up and good target. He throws with good momentum and will continue to improve with more active feet.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Pierson is a C prospect who continued to showcase his skills during the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. Behind the plate, Pierson sits in a relaxed stance and tracks the ball into his glove well. He gains momentum on his throws and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with life through the 2B bag. He tucks his chin when blocking and keeps the ball in front of his body. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a controlled stride. He is on time getting into a simple load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a short swing with decent bat speed, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. Overall, Pierson is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

12/20/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Pierson continues to shine on the diamond. Behind the plate, Feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.46 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to get body down sooner. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 2 for 5 with a 2B and 3B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a team player, coachable, and plays the game hard.

10/26/2019 - Mid Atlantic Regional Pitching/Catching & Offensive Skills Combined Weekend (Ages 14-18) Pierson is a coachable C prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. Behind the plate, Pierson sits in an athletic stance and presents a good target. He replaces his feet well to throw and throws with a quick arm. He moves on time to block and covers up well. Getting rid of the ball quicker can help Pierson improve as a C. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. Pierson can improve as a hitter by working on his contact points. Overall, Pierson is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

09/01/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Pierson showed solid all around improvements during his last workout with The Factory. He increased radar velocity to 80 MPH, exit velocity to 81 MPH, and showed a spike in hitting numbers. Behind the plate, Pierson tracks well, footwork is efficient, and he sits in low and athletically. He has a strong, consistent arm to 2nd base and lowered pop times to 2.39 seconds to 2nd base. In the OF, Pierson has active feet and he shows good agility to the baseball. He has a presentable glove, he works behind fly balls well, and he gains momentum to his target; throwing with accuracy. At the plate, Pierson has a tall/square stance, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has quick hands, a direct barrel, and he works the ball well gap to gap.

07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Pierson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.15. Behind the dish, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.30 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the ball quicker. He shows a solid setup and presents a low target. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner. At the plate, he shows a tall, athletic setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 5 for 9 with a 2 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and is a solid team player.

12/08/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Hitting Weekend (Ages 12-14) Pierson is an athletic and talented 2023 prospect that works hard and made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Hitting Weekend. At the plate, Pierson starts in an athletic stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and has good rhythm in his hands. He recognizes pitches up in the zone, creates backside rotation with his lower half, and keeps the barrel on plane to contact. He needs to continue to attacks the inside part of the ball and keep his head down at contact. When loading with his lower half he needs to load knee to knee, keep his weight on the inside part of his back leg, and get his front foot down on time. He consistently hits the ball hard and drives the ball to all fields. We hope to see his progress in the future and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/03/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Pitching and Catching Weekend (Ages 12-14) Pierson is an athletic and talented 2023 catching prospect that made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Regional Pitching and Catching weekend. Behind the dish, Pierson starts in an athletic secondary and a balanced primary. He presents a big, low target, and is on time when receiving. He Leads with his glove to block and controls the balls with his chest. He needs to continue to improve his mobility to block side to side. Pierson has a clean exchange, creates momentum with his lower half, and has a quick release when throwing. Continuing to increase arm strength and getting experience behind the dish will take Piersons skills to the next level.

07/17/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Pierson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate, he threw his lowest pop time to date at 2.43 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Feet are quick in gaining ground through a clean transfer / exchange. He shows a solid setup and sticks balls well in the zone and utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He stays inside the baseball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 2 for 6 with a 3B and 2 BB as he displays good plate discipline. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

01/12/2018 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Historic Dodgertown Pierson is a talented, and hardworking prospect that made several adjustments to improve his skills during the Hitting Accelerated Training weekend. At the plate, Pierson has an athletic stance and a short stride. He loads his hands back and stays balanced through contact. He does a good job rotating his backside which allows his hands to freely work to the inside part of the ball. Rhythm in his hands will create separation and allow him to get his front foot down on time. This will help him recognize pitches and be aggressive on the fastball. Pierson will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/05/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Vinton (Roanoke), VA Pierson is a tall (2023 grad) as a C. Defensively behind the plate, he presents a low target and sits in an athletic stance. He tracks pitches well into his mitt and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. At the plate, this RHH shows an athletic setup with a wide base. He strides short to each pitch, swings on-plane through the zone and consistently drives pitches to his pull side. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
