02/19/2023 - National Showcase - Monticello, IA Pratim is an athletic C/OF in the 2024 class. Behind the plate, he has active feet and agile movements. Shows advanced hip mobility by sitting low in his stance. Can redirect the baseball quickly and uses short arm action and a high ¾ release. Feeds are accurate with life (2.00/81 velo). In the field, he showed impressive actions. Demonstrated fluid movements and worked behind the baseball. He can cover ground well and arm plays in all three OF spots. At the plate, he begins with a squared stance and gains separation. Stays inside his feet well and hits off a firm front side. Creates hard contact by using a direct path. Overall, Pratim is a solid prospect in the 2024 class.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Pratim continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities at the Pre-Season All American event. At the plate, hitting / power potential are now excellent through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in 2.22 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

10/19/2022 - Arizona Easton Fall Classic - Upper Class (2023-2024) Pratim continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. Behind the plate, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest and is a wall. Receiving / blocking skills are quality tools that will play well at the next level. Pop time showed in the 2.15 range with accuracy / carry (86 mph velocity) to his target. Offensively, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion (81 mph exit velocity) with the ball jumping off of his barrel. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

02/13/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Monticello, IA Pratim is a C prospect who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame, with high waist, athletic build and strength present. At C, he plays with good effort and presents a low target. Good lateral movement, with good blocking angles, and centers the baseball. Works thumb under, with a clean exchange, into a high 3/4 release point with on-line throws consistently to second base. Arm velocity was up to 81mph and his best pop time was 2.05 seconds. A right-handed hitter, he hits from a crouched and open stance. Relaxed setup, with a quiet head, and ability to control the barrel. He made contact to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 82mph during BP. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we see Pratim making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
