04/08/2018 - College PREP - Billings, MT Preston is a lanky SS who has a promising future on the diamond. In the MIF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Hands are soft / sure and he presents well out front. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. With 2 years to further develop, Preston has potential with time and room to continue to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
