12/01/2023 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Preston is a talented catcher in the 2024 class. Behind the plate, he gains a low stance and has strong glove presentation. He tracks the ball in well and displays a quiet feel. Replaces his feet and can redirect the baseball with lighting quick actions. Gains a high 3 qtr. slot and registered a 2.3 pop with life and accuracy. At the plate, he begins in a squared stance and his weight stays inside his feet. Body creates controlled actions and his swing is simple and compact. Creates line drive production at 77 exit velo. Working to create more hand separation will add further carry on his ball flight. Overall, Preston has the tools and skills to help a college roster next fall.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
