05/31/2008 - College PREP - Kearns, UT Quade is a tall thin player with potential at two positions. Behind the plate, Quade has athletic actions on throws to 2B that gains ground well. Long toss will help lower pop times. Hands are soft when receiving and body gets down quickly to block balls in the dirt. At 2B, Quade has a balanced approach and he defends the slow roller well. He needs to play through the ball a little more, but he has good footwork on turning the double play. At the plate, Quade has quick hands and good use of the lower half. Everything is level and he hits a lot of line drives. As he gets stronger, his power should increase.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
