08/23/2014 - College PREP - Purchase, NY Quinn is a catcher who is a defensive specialist. Behind the dish, he sits in well with flexion and quiet actions. Footwork in quick as he gets around pitches in the dirt, centering them off of his chest. On throws down to 2B; he gains ground and has a quick exchange putting the ball on the bag in 2.16. Pop times will continue to lower as he works on staying low to throw. With the bat, Quinn shows a patient approach with centered balance. Barrel delivery is quick on a level path as he gets extension through the zone. A talented all-around player - Quinn will be one to keep an eye on as he develops the next couple of years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
