08/21/2024 - National Showcase - Trenton, NJ Quinn is promising young catcher, in 2031 class, displays an impressive skill set that bodes well for future development. Known for his excellent ball tracking and effective front elbow hinge, he shows a strong ability to center the ball and make on-line throws to second base. His best pop time is a notable 3.00 seconds, with an arm velocity reaching up to 59 mph, indicating a solid defensive foundation. In the infield, he demonstrates good glove-side range and fields the ball in front of him with confidence. His throws are executed from a high 3/4 arm slot, allowing for accurate and efficient defensive plays. At the plate, this young player exhibits good bat control with a simple setup and effective hand loading. His consistent contact to all fields suggests a well-rounded offensive approach and potential for growth as he continues to develop. Overall, this young player has shown promising skills both defensively and offensively, and with continued development and experience, he is likely to see significant improvement in his game.

08/15/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Tennessee, TN Quinn had a standout performance at the All-Ripken games, showcasing his versatility as a player. On the mound, his balanced and coordinated delivery is impressive, allowing his fastball to reach 57 mph and his breaking ball to sit at 53 mph with tight spin. His ability to work quickly and attack hitters is a valuable asset, and focusing on maintaining balance with his chest up will help him improve even further. Incorporating an off-season throwing program will also be key for developing arm strength. At the plate, Quinn's knack for making contact puts pressure on the defense, and his multiple hits—including a crucial 2-RBI single in the championship game—demonstrate his effectiveness as a hitter. With continued focus on both pitching mechanics and hitting strategies, Quinn has the potential to make a significant impact on his team in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
