12/27/2024 - Baseball Factory Holiday Classic at Pirate City Randol is a 2026 shortstop from Falls Church, VA, who worked on his skills at the Baseball Factory Pirate City Holiday Camp. He demonstrates athletic actions and posted an impressive 60-yard dash time of 7.01 seconds. Defensively, he works efficiently from right to left, showcasing good lateral range and making accurate throws from multiple arm slots, with an arm velocity reaching up to 84 mph. As a right-handed hitter, he starts in an open stance with high hands, showing late barrel whip and fast barrel speed through the hitting zone. Randol proved to be a tough out during live game action, reaching base with two singles, two walks, and being hit by a pitch. Another year of growth and development will continue to enhance his overall game.

09/18/2024 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic (2026) Randol Lachapel, a SS from Falls Church, VA, showcased his talents at the Arizona Junior Fall Classic and certainly passed the eye test with his athletic build. His physicality contributes to his solid range at shortstop, and with continued work on arm strength, he'll be even more effective on throws from deep in the 5/6 hole. At the plate, Lachapel demonstrated impressive bat speed, even with a slightly upward bat path. He had a strong weekend offensively, highlighted by a triple that reached the left-center wall, along with two singles. One of his hardest-hit balls was a sharp lineout to left field, showing his potential at the plate. Additionally, he showcased his speed with two stolen bases. With a bit of fine-tuning, Lachapel is well on his way to being ready for the next level.

07/22/2024 - All-In National Showcase - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Randol is a tall, athletic SS who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are solid he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. He utilizes his foot quickness (7.11 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry (81 mph velocity) on his throws. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact s strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. With 2 years to further develop, Randol has a lot of potential and will get looks from collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
