06/17/2024 - College World Series Experience - Session 1 Rayan continues to impress with improvements in his baseball abilities on the diamond. At 3B, defensive abilities are now solid as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine with solid hitting / power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight into a firm front side. At the event, he was 4 for 7 with a 2B and BB. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

02/18/2024 - National Showcase - Fremont (San Jose), CA Ryan is a 5ft 7/145 3B in the 2025 class. In the field, he shows excellent pre-pitch actions and demonstrates agile movements to the baseball. Gains a low fielding position with sure hands. He can redirect with quick actions and obtains multiple arm slots based upon his defensive zones. Arm is a strength as it is accurate to his targets at 79 velo. At the plate, he shows quick hands and creates line drive contact. He can use the whole field as he hits off a firm front side. Shows positive hip engagement and a full finish to his swing. Overall, Rayan shows he has great value on the field and scouts feel he is on the right path to a bright future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
