Official Scouting Report

05/13/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Tampa, FL Reese is an athletic and talented 2020 utility prospect. At SS, Reese has pre pitch rhythm and shows range to both sides. He plays through the backhand and throws from multiple arm slots. In the OF, Reese gets good reads off the bat and makes accurate throws to the bases. Continuing to have and active prep step and working behind the ball will allow him to elevate his game to the next level. At the plate, Reese starts in an athletic stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He attacks the inside part of the ball and drives the ball gap to gap. Reese will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/30/2015 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown Reese is a lean SS/RHP that will graduate in 2020 with a bright future on the diamond. He showed a lot of improvements since his initial workout with us. Currently, he projects better at SS for the next level but shows well at both positions. In the MIF, he moves well laterally, flashing range and displays aggressive feet that attack the baseball. Hands are soft / sure as he presents well out front and shows big play potential in the MIF. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat as he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 62-64 mph with arm side run and sink through a quick tempo. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with sinking action. Off speed stuff shows as potential quality pitches at the next level. Stock on the mound will continue to grow as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and throws more strikes. Mental makeup is a plus as he plays hard and is very coachable. With 5 years to further develop, Reese has the makings of a special type player and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
