06/25/2008 - College PREP - Crestwood, IL Reid is a tall lean player. Behind the plate, Reid has a strong arm as his pop times indicate. He gets rid of the ball quickly with fast moving feet despite standing too tall to throw. He receives the ball with decent hands and he can block balls in the dirt nicely. He can catch. At the plate, Reid has a line drive approach and he can hit the ball where it is pitched. He tends to dive at the ball at times which affects his power and barrel accuracy. Staying back will help. With work on his hitting, Reid's overall grades should improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
