07/28/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Reid is a strong, athletic SS who will graduate in 2019. Defensively, Reid has good defensive actions, a soft glove, and quick feet. He picks out the right hops, fields cleanly, and delivers the ball accurately with carry across the diamond. Solid defense can get better if Reid can avoid rushing and continue to add arm strength. Offensively, Reid has a square/athletic set-up, a short stride, and good balance. He has quick hands, explosive bat speed, and he uses his lower body. If Reid can let the ball travel deeper and work on his rhythm, hitting grades can further spike.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
