01/15/2010 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2010 Richard is a solid Catcher that continues to show sound baseball skills. He participated in the UA Preseason All-America and showed well. Richard has a compact, low center of gravity, and is a grinder type player. He handles the pitchers well behind the plate and blocks / receives well with strong hands. Catching grades can get even better with a shorter arm action and better reactions to balls outside his body. Richard has a good base, balance, and bat speed. He stays inside the baseball, uses all fields, and gets good lower 1/2 rotation. Richard's front side is strong, and with a little shorter stroke and quicker bat, offensive numbers could get even better.

01/16/2009 - Under Armour Pre-Season All America - 2009 Glenn continues steady improvement in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.29 runner. He utilizes his quick feet well through the throwing process. He continues to show plus pop times in the low 2.00 range. Pop times will continue to drop as more arm strength is developed through a strict long toss program. Hitting abilities have also improved now showing above average abilities. He sits in well and shows quick hands with extension through the baseball. He was 1 for 4 at the event with a solid line drive back up the middle. Richard has abilities and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches in need of a solid catcher.

01/11/2008 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2008 Richard has strong upper body and is willing to take charge on the field which is excellent for a catcher. He showed a good exchange with carry and life on throws to 2B. Needs to work on footwork cause he relies on arm too much, can improve his rhythm to help develop a more consistent release. Took good angles and got body in proper position to block. At the plate, utilized his lower half very well. Showed quick hands with a level swing. Looked a little stiff which made him come around ball. Would like to see him start launch sooner.

12/27/2007 - Christmas Camp and Tournament - 2007 Glenn showed above average arm strength behind the plate, thanks to compact arm action with good arm speed. He also blocked and received well during the event - making his total package of defensive skills very good for his age. At the plate, he showed good bat speed and a mostly level bat path. Can work to get through the ball more consistently with his stroke out front and his lower body. Overall, a talented young player with potential to develop into a solid collegiate catcher.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
