01/12/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Monterey Park (Los Angeles), CA Richard is a young, solid, 2-way player who plays 3B and RHP. Defensively, Richard has efficient footwork, he covers ground, and fields squarely. He makes the routine plays, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy and momentum from a short arm action across the diamond. On the mound, Richard has good balance over the rubber and a clean arm circle. He separates his hands on time, he lands with good direction toward home, and he finishes completely. At the plate, Richard has a square/athletic stance, good balance, and he swings a level stick. He has a direct swing path and works the middle of the field well. Overall skills can further improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
