07/15/2010 - Cape Cod Training 2010 - Session 2 Ricky is a young (2014) 2B with a small frame that shows projection as he continues to physically mature. Foot speed is average as indicated by his 7.59 60 time. He charges the ball well and is aggressive in his infield play but needs to play through balls more with his body. Glove action is soft, clean in making the plays. Throws are accurate but needs to get on a long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength. Offensively, Guerra shows a level swing path through an aggressive approach but has some mechanical flaws that are hindering him from reaching his full potential with grades improving quickly with instruction and adjustments. With 4 years to further develop, Ricky has a lot of abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
