02/15/2015 - College PREP - Beaufort, SC Ricky is a solid, athletic OF that will graduate in 2016 with a ton of potential. Defensive abilities in the OF are well above average as he displays smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in taking proper routes / angles to track balls down. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls, playing through well, and covers a lot of ground, displaying range. Throws are accurate, but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic / squared approach and he tracks the ball well. Hands are quick, and aggressive, working through a level swing path as he generates bat speed and creates extension through the ball. He makes consistent contact and has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered as he works to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields, displaying gap to gap pop. Ricky has a promising future on the diamond and will catch the eyes of the collegiate players with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
