12/27/2024 - Baseball Factory Holiday Classic at Pirate City Riley is a talented third baseman and right-handed pitcher from New York in the 2027 class, who worked diligently on his skills at the Baseball Factory Pirate City camp. Defensively, Riley closes the distance on batted balls with good timing and maintains a low, athletic fielding position. He funnels well and gets rid of the ball quickly, showing excellent carry on his throws, reaching up to 90 mph, though his arm can be a bit erratic at times. At the plate, Riley starts in a tall, open stance and does a great job of getting his lower half through the ball. During live game action, he had a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, demonstrating his ability to reach base and make solid contact. On the mound, Riley’s tall and projectable frame stands out, and he works with good mechanics, keeping his chest to glove. In three innings of work, he struck out six batters and allowed just one hit, showing his effectiveness as a pitcher. With two more years of growth and development, Riley has the potential to refine his skills further and become a highly impactful player.
