07/27/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (HS) Riley is a 2024 3B/RHP prospect who showed well during the National World Series at Pirate City. At 3B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth/athletic actions. Active/efficient feet as he works around balls and shows good body control. Fields from an athletic/low fielding position, with soft hands, and presents out front. Throws are accurate with carry across the diamond and an arm velocity of 74mph. Showed good accuracy on his DP feeds. At the plate, he hits from a square and tall stance with comfortable hands. A small/simple hand load and short stride as he hits into a firm front side. Showed some late bat whip as he hit balls to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 72mph during BP. Power will increase as he rotates his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 3 for 7 with 3 singles and a base on balls. On the mound, he has long levers and projectible frame with a good mound presence. Rides his back leg down the mound with clean arm action and mixes his pitches well. A 2-pitch pitcher who attacks hitters with a FB that sat 71-72mph with some tailing action, and a breaking ball with 11/5 shape with tight spin. In 6 innings of work, he only allowed 2 hits while striking out 8 batters and threw 59% of his pitches for strikes. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength and command through a long toss and J-band program. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we see Riley having opportunities to play at the next level.
