07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Riley is a 2027 1B/LHP prospect who showcased his skills at the BF National World Series. At 1B he does well to get in a low, on-time fielding position and presents his hands in front. He shows good glove actions and tracks ball to glove. He made accurate throws from multiple arm slots with an arm velocity up to 69mph. At the plate he hits from an athletic and open stance with low hands. He has a fluid rhythm in the box and hits into a firm front side. In live game action, he shows a good 2-strike approach and made consistent contact reaching base multiple times. On the mound, he works with good tempo and gathers over the rubber. He has a good mound presence with some feel for pitching. He attacks hitters with a FB that was up to 64mph with some arm side run. He mixed in a 1/7 shaped breaking ball, and a changeup with some movement that he throws with FB arm speed. He struck out 4 in 2 innings of scoreless game action and didn't allow a hit. Overall, Riley is an exciting 2-way prospect that we are excited to see more of in the future.

06/12/2023 - National Showcase - Troy (Albany), NY Riley is a LHP prospect who will graduate in 2027. A young/developing player with some strength to the build and room to develop. A left-handed pitcher he works with good tempo and picks up is target early. He gets a good rear hip coil and rotates to his target. Throws a FB that sat 62-65mph with some arm side run, a breaking ball with 1/7 shape that he throws with good arm speed, a slider that he throws for strikes, and a changeup he throws with FB arm speed. CB was best pitch during bullpen session. At the plate he begins with an upright and even stance. A selective hitter who only offered at pitches in the zone. Gets good extension through the baseball and is centered at contact. A flat barrel path enables him to hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 66mph. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect having a bright future at the high school level and beyond.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.
