02/20/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - San Bernardino, CA Riley is a long, thin, 2-way player who pitches and plays 1B. On the mound, Riley has good balance, on-time hand separation, and a quick arm action. He works in good rhythm, gets good extension on his pitches, and finishes in a square position toward home plate. Riley competes well in the zone and mixes in his off-speed well. Added arm strength, and working on a downhill plane, will help solid mound effectiveness get even better. At 1B, Riley showed efficient footwork, a presentable glove, and he covers ground well. He fields squarely, his exchange is clean, and he throws with consistency from a loose arm action to his target Quicker feet and added arm strength will help defensive skills get better. At the plate, Riley has a square/athletic stance, a level swing, and he works the middle of the field. He hits from a strong base, and can hit to all fields. If Riley can work on timing, add bat speed, and use more lower 1/2, hitting grades will spike.
