12/15/2019 - College PREP - Madison (NYC), NJ Bobby continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising on the diamond. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power abilities has improved, now displaying well above average hitting with solid power potential through a closed setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth, clean actions. Feet are aggressive as he active but needs to attack balls more and play through with his body. Glove is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 68-71 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He slows his arm speed tipping off pitch to hitters. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength.

12/20/2016 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 Robert is a stocky SS/OF from the North East. He works hard and is a student of the game. As a SS, Robert gets into the proper fielding position and gains ground on slow rollers. He needs to continue fielding the ball in front of his body, agility drills to increase his range, and the long toss/throwing program to increase arm strength. At the plate, Robert has a simple stance, good rhythm with his hands, and uses his lower half. Being more aggressive on FB's, attacking the inside part of the ball, and getting extension through the ball will increase his consistency as a hitter. If Robert continues to work on a “Path A” approach he will increase his confidence and ability. We look forward seeing his progress in the future.

07/06/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Bobby continues to progress on the diamond. Offensively, this RHH has a balanced setup with a strong base. He takes an aggressive hack and squares the ball up with some pop. At SS, he shows great hustle, moving well right and left. He gives solid DP feeds and follows his throws. This 2021 grad has the makings to be a very solid player in the years to come thanks to his energy and coachability.

01/30/2016 - Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (Ages 12-14) Bobby showed a good idea at the plate during the Hitting ATW. Working from a square, athletic set up Bobby's hands are activated properly in the launch position while using a hip-turn trigger with the lower half. The bat path is direct as he was able to consistently square balls up and create backspin on line drive by getting quality extension through contact. Driving the lower half more to the baseball will increase bat speed for additional pop. An exciting young hitter, Bobby's talents will continue to rise from consistent dedication.

01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Tiger Town Bobby is a gamer who works hard every day. He hustles on and off the field - showing the 6th tool that cannot be coached. Defensively, he is aggressive to come and get the GB working into a square/athletic fielding position. He picks out the hops with soft/sure hands getting his mitt on almost everything hit his way. He communicates well and is always thinking one play ahead. Gaining more ground through the GB toward his target along with continuing to gain overall strength will aid in his development in the MIF. As a hitter - this righty steps into the box with a purpose. He competes in every at bat and wants pitchers to challenge him. Swing is level as he takes a hack at pitches in the zone. He squares the ball up consistently and hustles down the 1B line, putting pressure on the defense. Bobby is a very coachable player who gives 100%. A 2021 grad - he has the makings of a special type of player as he continues to develop and get stronger.

12/13/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Madison (NYC), NJ Bobby is a young (2021 grad) who continues to work hard on his game. With the bat, this righty stands in well with centered balance and quiet/simple actions. Swing path is level as he barrels the ball up and drives the middle of the field. More lower 1/2 drive and added strength will help power to continue to climb. In the OF, Bobby hustles to track down fly-balls to his right and left. He has a clean exchange and hits hit cutoff man in the chest. Bobby still has a ton of time to physically mature and develop on the diamond.

01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at the Yankees Training Complex Bobby continues to work hard on and off the field as he showed some desirable characteristics in his most recent Baseball Factory outing. At SS, he makes the routine plays with good body control and ready hands. He puts a lot of effort into each play and will see improvement by increasing foot speed and continuing to gain strength. At the plate, he remains in a square stance with repeatable, easy mechanics. He barrels the majority of the balls up and will see improvement by refining his rhythm and driving with his lower 1/2. He is a hardworking 2021 grad with a great attitude and true passion for the game.

10/05/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Bobby is a young, R/R SS. Defensively, he is aggressive and comes to get the ground ball. He takes good angles to balls hit to his right and left and fields them with soft hands. With the bat, Bobby has a selective approach and waits for his pitch. He puts max effort into every swing and squares the ball up. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Arm strength
2. Play through ball
3. Glove presentation
Offense
1. Increase bat speed
2. Increase strength
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
