02/23/2013 - Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (Ages 12-14) Robert is an aggressive young hitter who does a very good job of attacking the baseball. Also Robert has the ability to hit the baseball to all fields, he has this ability because he does a very good job of extending through the contact point, and keeping the barrel in the hitting zone as long as possible. Robert needs to focus on his body posture during the swing, he tends to hit on a soft front side, meaning that his front leg becomes to bent during the swing. When the front leg is bent during the swing it takes away from the power of the swing, if he can keep the front leg stiff during the swing he will see an increase in his power. Also his bat tends to start to tall during the stance, when the bat is tall you are forced to drop the barrel into the hitting zone. Flatten the bat parallel to the arms, and it will be much easier to deliver the barrel to the baseball.
