10/06/2012 - 2012 Team One Texas Showcase Duggar continues to show a lot of improvements in his baseball abilities, still showing as an SS/RHP. Currently, he projects best on the mound for the next level but has a ton of potential in the INF. On the mound, arm strength has improved, as he topped out at 88 mph. Fastball showed a range of 84-88 mph with late glove side run. Breaking ball is a quality pitch, displaying 10/5 shape with late bite and depth. He maintains arm speed on his changeup showing a solid feel for with glove side run. Command / control are a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches, locating to both side of the plate and changes speed well. At SS, foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Feet are quick / aggressive as he takes proper angles in working around balls and plays through well with his body. Hands are soft/clean/sure as he makes all the plays. At the plate, Robert has improved his power numbers as he displays strength in his swing. Hands are quick, generating outstanding bat speed as he works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields. He has leverage with solid barrel accuracy as the baseball explodes off his bat when centered. At the event, he was 4 for 8 with a 2B.

07/13/2012 - 2012 Team One South Showcase Dugger showed similar abilities as we had previously seen at Team One West. Currently, he projects best on the mound for the next level. Arm strength is well above average as indicated by his top velocity of 85 mph. Fastball showed a range of 81-85 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball is a quality out pitch, displaying 11/5 shape with sharp breaking action. Command / control are a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches, locating to both sides of the plate. At SS, he attacks ground balls and plays through well, displaying sure hands. He moves well laterally, showing solid range in the MIF. At the plate, Robert shows a balanced approach with quick hands that flash bat speed through a level swing path.

07/08/2012 - 2012 Team One West Showcase Dugger continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and now projects best on the mound for the next level. Arm strength has improved as he topped out at 86 mph. Fastball showed a range of 83-86 mph with sinking action. At SS, he uses his quick feet well in attacking ground balls with his loose body as he extends his hands well out front. At the plate, he shows quick hands that flash bat speed through the zone. At the event, he was 2 for 4 with a SB.

01/13/2012 - 2012 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Robert is a lanky SS/RHP that will graduate in 2013. Currently, he projects best at SS for the next level. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.25 60 time. Feet are active as he attacks ground balls, playing through while presenting soft / sure hands out front. He gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry on his throws. At the plate, Dugger shows a balanced setup with his hands working through a level swing path. He shows good barrel accuracy with the baseball jumping off his bat when centered. At the event he was 3 for 7. On the mound, his fastball shows a range of 82-85 mph with arm side run. Off speed pitches are average, needing further development to be quality pitches at the next level. He attacks hitters with all his pitches. Robert has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
