01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Roger is a 2023 C who showcased his talents at the BF Pre-Season All-America Tournament. Behind the plate, he has fluid footwork and athletic actions that allow him to cover ground laterally. Roger fields from a low/square catching position and has a quick/clean exchange. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with good accuracy on his throw downs and a best pop time of 2.38. At the plate, he hits from a tall stance, with a short/square stride, and a good center of balance. He has a quiet head and attacks the ball. In the game, Roger showed good plate awareness drawing a base on balls. We expect to see Roger to continue to grow and excel on the baseball field.

09/05/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Fresno, CA Roger is a catching prospect in the class of 2025. He shows of a frame that fits the position along with some current athletic ability with room to continue to develop. Behind the plate, he shows very good footwork and the ability to make accurate throws to 2B. He does a good job receiving and working his thumb underneath the baseball. When blocking he shows quickness and athleticism. At the plate, he hits from an even stance. Shows a short stride and simple load to help him get into a consistent launch position. Does a good job using his hips in the swing to create some separation. Shows a line drive approach and consistently barrels the ball. Roger is a talented player who we expect to see continue to grow and develop.

09/08/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Fresno, CA Roger is an athletic catcher who will graduate in 2025. Behind the plate, Roger has efficient footwork, he tracks well, and sticks the ball. He is quick to block, he recovers well, and throws with accuracy and pop times as low as 3.15 seconds to 2nd base. At the plate, Roger has a tall/open stance, a short/square stride, and good balance. He has fast bat speed, makes hard contact, and he uses his lower body. Roger can continue to get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
