In the OF, Ronald has quick feet and he moves athletically to the baseball. He fields aggressively, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a short arm action to his target. Behind the plate, Ronald tracks well and sticks the baseball. He has a presentable glove, keeps the ball in front when blocking, and throws with some accuracy to 2nd base. At the plate, Ronald has a square/athletic set-up, good bat speed, and he uses his lower body. Ronald will need to continue to work on the following in order to improve.

11/15/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Ronald continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers ground. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

06/24/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Columbia, MD Ronald is a young, 2-way player with a thin frame. In the OF, Ronald has active feet, soft hands, and he fields the ball aggressively. He takes good angles to the ball, covers ground well, and throws with accuracy and momentum toward his target. Behind the plate, Ronald has active feet, he presents his glove well, and he looks the ball into his glove. He has a quick exchange and a short arm action throwing to 2nd base. At the plate, Ronald has a square/athletic set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He loads well, makes consistent contact, and uses some lower body. Ronald will need to work on the following in order for skills to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
