01/15/2010 - Vero Beach Spring Training & Competition - 2010 Moore was one of the more talented and capable all around players at this event. He featured good athletic ability and feel for the game defensively, such that he would be capable at all three OF spots - given his soft hands and good feet, he has potential to play in the infield as well. His strength was solid, as was his arm action and release. He ran 7.3 at this event in the 60-yard dash, a little off the 7.15 we saw previously, and did a good job of running the bases. At the plate, he showed good bat speed and hand-eye coordination. He setup well and reached a good hitting position prior to moving the barrel to contact. His path was level through the hitting zone, especially when he stayed back and worked up the middle - tended to get a little too pull oriented, like most young hitters, but showed the ability to make adjustments during drill work. On the mound, he was around the zone with his 76-78 mph fastball. He showed some feel to pitch and ability to use his secondary pitches, and did a good job of working quickly and throwing strikes. Can work to improve his leg drive through release, and needs to make sure to stay closed with his front shoulder. Overall, a talented and well rounded young player with some two-way potential as a college prospect.
