02/19/2017 - College PREP - Sugar Land (Houston), TX Roy is a 2017 SS with a physically intimidating presence on the field. He has plus tools across the board including a middle of the order profile at the plate with impressive bat to ball skills and power to match. His strength is evident at the plate from his stacked load to incorporated lower half to his fast bat through the zone. He works on a level direct path to deliver the barrel to the ball consistently and hit missiles all over the field with power to all fields. At short, he shows his athleticism working to the ball to field with presented hands and play through with momentum to his target. His hands are quick and clean to transfer and release to turn very fast DP's and get the ball to first. Quickening his footwork to throw will give him the extra split second to make every play out there. Roy is a big talent we expect to see making contributions to a team at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
